“Now they hate school because that’s where they were when the bombing started”

by Yaniv Reich on January 16, 2010

Sisters Reem (15) and Ameera (10) are two of seven children living in a small house close to the Israeli border in northern Gaza. Their mother Naema was five months pregnant with their baby sister Habiba when she had to flee during the Israeli offensive. Her children talk about how the military operation affected them and how they still wake up in the middle of the night with nightmares.

This clip is part of Save the Children’s ongoing examination of the long-term effects of the war on Gaza’s children.

Thanks to Palestine Video for posting this clip.
